Assalamu-alaikum,
Even as the weather starts to cool down, October has been warm and bubbling! Alhamdulilah, we've had numerous activities thus far, including part three of our Rekindling the Hearts discussion series where we discussed the trickery and deception of Shaitan. The MSO brothers also had a good time playing fris--football. After all, it's still football season! InshAllah the month will continue in this manner and end strong with Islam Awareness Week which will be the last week of October.

Reminder of the Week
Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah's) mercy envelops them, Sakinah, or tranquillity descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.''[Muslim].
Islam Awareness Week
Islam Awareness Week is barely a week away and we have some fantastic events lined up for the Mizzou community. Spread the word about these events to your friends and co-workers.
o On Monday 24th, work out your taste buds for Taste of Islam from 10-2 PM at N103C Memorial Union.
o On Tuesday 25th, watch an award winning film titled Inside Islam: What a billion Muslims Really Think, at S203 Memorial Union from 5-6:30PM. This will be followed by a lively discussion about the film.
o On Wednesday 26th, We have Pink Hijab Day and Scarves for Solidarity. Help raise awareness about breast cancer and raise funds for Susan G Komen for the Cure. Attend a panel on Women in Islam/Scarves for solidarity from 5-6 PM at N103C Memorial Union. Scarves for solidarity is an event where people voluntarily put on a headscarf for a day in order to experience a day in the life of a Muslimah. They later gather in the evening and discuss what they learned from the event.
o On Thursday 27th, attend Who is afraid of Shariah?, a lecture by Haroon Moghul. The lecture will be held from 8-9 PM at S203 Memorial Union.
o On Friday 28th, hang out with MSO members and jump rope with us from 11-1 PM at speaker's circle. Get a free bagel or donut while you're at it.
We will be tabling throughout the week on the following days from 10-2 PM.
- Thursday, 10/20 and Wednesday, 10/26 Outside memorial union.
- Tuesday, 10/25 inside MU Student Center, under bridge.

We are looking to compare their views with the other U.S. parents and students of all ages generally and Indian-American parents and students of all ages specifically; therefore we too are looking for individuals of an Indian background.
