Assalamu-alaikum,
October has come to a close, and we couldn't be prouder of our members and the successes of all our events. The month was extremely productive, and this semester's showcase event, Islam Awareness Week, went as smoothly as we could have possibly hoped! We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to Islam Awareness Week in any way or form whatsoever. We hope to keep up the tempo as we come off the heels of such an excellent month. Let's roll!

Reminder of the Week
The Prophet (peace be upon him) explained how, “There are no days that are greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them.” [Ahmad, 7/224]
MSO General Body Meeting
We will have a General Body Meeting on Thursday, November 3 at 7 PM. The meeting will be held in S206 Memorial Union. We will be conducting a survey at the meeting and one of the MSA Presidential slates will be talking about his candidacy.
Iftar for Students on Day of Arafah
The ICCM is planning an Iftar on the Day of Arafah, which is Saturday, November 5, 2011, for all students.
Hate Wall Event
Have you ever been on the receiving end of hurtful stereotypes? The Hate Wall Event seeks to educate students about stereotypes in an effort to promote positive speech and respect. Come to the Hate Wall Event, write on the wall of hate any stereotypes or slurs you've encountered, then discuss these experiences with your peers. Together we can all be green dots and stop the use of hateful speech.
MCI is asking that each of you send at least 2-3 members of your organization to the event and aid us in the demonstrations we will be doing in Speaker Circle the day of the event. We also encourage all of your members to come to the event itself. We have FREE t-shirts for demonstration participants and FREE Chipotle for all in attendance at the event!
The Hate Wall will be Thursday, November 3rd at 5 p.m. in the Shack.
If you plan to participate, notify MSO and tell us your t-shirt size.
Interview for Journalism
Fareeha Amir is doing a project and would like to interview some of the Muslim women in our community on wearing hijab. Please contact Fareeha at

if you are interested in helping her on her project. Because she can't interview other MU students, it would be beneficial if she could talk to female family members.
The story will be about how life is in Columbia wearing the hijaab and more in depth about how it feels to wear the hijaab and what it means to individuals.
Joplin Relief Trip with MSA of University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
Are you interested in helping with the Joplin Relief Trip? If you would like to help,
